I know we have to do a lot of work to get coverage but I was just saddened at the behavior of the bigwigs. They know the news and yet chose not to report it.

- We were on local KTSF TV, thanks to help from our Chinese friends
- We were local KTVU 2 TV channel at prime time
- We have been covered by local print media like Mercury news
- We have interviewed with local radio stations
- We had reporter from Associated Press cover this event
- BusinessWeek wrote an article about us
Mind you this is Silicon valley not some countryside suburb in America.
I encourage you to collect these links and post them in the existing San Jose rally thread so people understand the real breath of media coverage that this rally actually received. Our volunteers are too exhausted from yesterday's event your help will be appreciated.

Hi All
Cheques were encashed for my and my wife's I-485, I-765, I-131 application.
I have received the receipt numbers for all from the back of the cheques.
When I access the receipt number for one of the I-765 Uscis shows the following update :
On September 19, 2007, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION and request that we waive the filing fee. We have waived the filing fee and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
What does waived the filling fee mean ?? why did they do that ?? Also if they waived the filling fee, why did USCIS encash the cheques ??

Hi
My wife need to travel to india urgently. Our visa/I94 expired in Oct. We already applied 485 and is pending.
1) Will there be any issue at airpot as I94 is expired.A xerox copy of 485 receipt is sufficient.
2) Does she need to travel any path in this case( I heard thru London is issue if visa is expired.France/Amsterdam Etcc..)

I am pretty sure Obama-Biden's team does not want to see the headlines like "Foreigners" on Obama-Biden's transition team!
Yes. We are foreigners no matter how much tax we pay or how law abiding we are...
Let us not assume. The worst that can happen from this request for a seat at the table is that they will deny the request.
There is a first time for everything. The transition team having a transparent open door policy for anyone's suggestion itself is a novel idea.
Obama and company are looking for ways to create jobs and revive the economy. Any idea that works towards those goals, I am pretty sure they will be all ears.

I am trying to port from EB3-EB2 from the same employer.
Prior to joining the employer, I had MS+2 years of experience. However, the lawyer applied in EB3. The job description read:
Required: BS+3
MS+1 also accepted
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
I applied based on my MS+1 experience. Now the same company has another position with a very similar job description with a different title.
Required:MS+1
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
Q1. Would this qualify for a EB2 position? Do I have to worry about the job descriptions being almost similar
Q2. The titles are different. But the EB2 position doesn't have "Senior" in the position title. Is there a need to worry?

You are eligible to work as soon as you receive the receipt notice. So I don't see a big gap.

But if your form is signed with today's date then doctor might want you to take blood work again as they are no longer invalid if they are more than 1 yr old.

I always enjoyed the Hyatt at Embarcadero Center and would probably stay there......If we are talking sometime in December I would hope we could firm up some dates soon so reservations can be made....Example if we made a date for Sat December 10th weekend I would arrive sometime on the 9th and then leave Tuesday 13th or Monday 12th.
I also may consider a round or two at Peeble Beach/Spanish Bay not to interfere with our weekend, but afterwards.
